Blog
You know that moment when someone asks what you do…and you take a deep breath before answering? That pause is a clue. Not that you’re unfocused—but that your message is doing too much at once.
This week, we’ll tighten how you show up so you attract the people you’re called to serve. Think of it as picking a lane, not building a wall. You’re not excluding people—you’re making it easier for the right ones to find you.
1) Name Your One Audience (Focus the Who)
If you try to reach everyone, you’ll reach no one. Your audience is the specific group you’re speaking to; your positioning is why you are the right guide for them.
Quick checks
- Can you describe your person in one sentence? (role, stage, context)
- Do you know the words they use for the problem?
- Would your best client read your last post and think, “That’s me”?
Niche ≠ narrow. Choosing an audience is stewardship, not scarcity. Jesus moved with assignment. You can, too.
Mini prompt: “This week I’m speaking to [who] who are facing [specific struggle].”
2) State Your One Promise (in One Line)
People make decisions in seconds. Give them a line they can repeat.
Use the template
We help [WHO] with [PROBLEM] to [PROMISE], backed by [PROOF].
Examples
- We help small nonprofits who struggle with inconsistent visibility to grow donor engagement, backed by case studies + templates.
- We help churches facing low first-time visitor follow-up to increase next-step signups, backed by simple workflows + coaching.
Make it sticky
- One promise, one verb, no insider jargon.
- Put the line in your LI header, website hero, email signature, and bio.
Sprint (5 minutes): Write three versions. Read them out loud. Pick the clearest. (hint: Ask Chat GPT to assist. I promise you it’s a gamechanger! Just make sure your prompt is clear. And if you need help with that, DM me CHAT.)
3) Put One Proof Front & Center (Make It Visible)
Trust rises when people can see what you mean.
Pick a proof you can publish today
- A 2-sentence testimonial
- A before/after screenshot (site, graphic, metric)
- A mini case (“Challenge → Action → Outcome”)
Avoid these 3 traps
- Vague promises. “We elevate brands.” → Say the outcome.
- Feature soup. Don’t lead with tools; lead with transformation.
- No follow-through. Post the proof, then invite a next step.
The Message House (fast version)
- Roof (Promise): your one-liner.
- Pillars (3): the main needs you meet + benefits.
- Foundation (Proof): testimonial, result, or process.
Ship it: Add one proof to your homepage hero or next carousel. Done beats perfect.
A word for the heart
Clarity isn’t hype—it’s kindness. When you name who you serve and why you, you make it easier for people to receive the help they’ve been praying for.
“Let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes’.” (Matthew 5:37) Give your audience a clear yes.
